The Greene County Rams girls basketball team continued its tradition of raising funds for cancer research and support during the 2013-14 season. This year’s activities netted $4000 that will be donated to several organizations.
This year’s fundraising projects included the sale of t-shirts, posters and wristbands, a silent auction bake sale, Chuck-a-Duck games at halftime, and the auction of tribute basketballs. The team met and voted to distribute the funds to Greene County Medical Center ($1500), Greene County Relay for Life ($500), inpatient oncology services at Mary Greeley Medical Center ($1000), and Mayo Clinic ($1000).
The $4,000 total is the most raised in Pink-Out activities at the school. Coach Chad Morton thanked parents who volunteered to help with the fundraising. “We should be able to do a lot of good things with this money,” Morton said.
